Egypt Weather Forecast for Sunday, October 25, 2026: Thunderstorms, Heavy Rain, Flash Flood Warnings and Strong Winds

Egypt’s Meteorological Authority expects hot to warm weather across much of the country on Sunday, October 25, 2026, with cooler conditions at night and during the early morning hours.

Fog may develop between 4 a.m. and 8 a.m. on roads serving northern Egypt, Greater Cairo, the Canal Cities, central Sinai and northern Upper Egypt. The fog may become dense in some areas, reducing visibility for motorists.

Rainfall is expected in parts of central and southern Sinai, the Red Sea Governorate and southern Upper Egypt. Showers may become heavy and occasionally thunderstorm-related, with a risk of flash flooding in areas including Halayeb, Shalateen, Ras Banas and the southern Eastern Desert.

Light rain may also affect scattered parts of the northern coast and the Delta, potentially extending to the Canal Cities and Greater Cairo.

Winds may reach speeds of 30 to 35 kilometers per hour in Greater Cairo and southern Sinai. Blowing dust and sand are possible in Halayeb, Shalateen, the southern Eastern Desert and parts of southern Upper Egypt.

The authority also warns that thunderstorms may bring strong downdraft winds and lightning in some locations. Residents are advised to follow official weather updates, exercise caution while driving in foggy conditions and avoid exposed areas during thunderstorms.

Maximum temperatures are expected to reach 30°C in Cairo, 27°C in Alexandria, 33°C in Sharm El-Sheikh, 31°C in Hurghada, 36°C in Luxor and Qena, and 37°C in Aswan.

The highest flash-flood risk is expected in specific areas exposed to heavy rainfall, particularly parts of southern Sinai, the Red Sea region and the southern Eastern Desert. Residents and travelers should monitor official warnings and follow local safety instructions.
