October 26, 2026 – 9:10 AM
Authorities are investigating four suspects accused of forming an organized criminal group allegedly involved in laundering approximately EGP 60 million obtained through illicit activities.
Investigative information indicates that the suspects allegedly generated substantial profits through drug trafficking and then attempted to conceal the origin of the proceeds by channeling them into apparently legitimate businesses and investments.
The reported methods included purchasing agricultural land, real estate and vehicles, as well as establishing companies, car trading offices, restaurants and cafeterias. These activities were allegedly used to disguise the source of the money and make it appear to have come from lawful commercial operations.
The case information also refers to repeated large cash deposits and financial transactions whose relationship to the suspects’ declared business activities was unclear. The value of the assets and funds under investigation was estimated at approximately EGP 60 million.
Four individuals were arrested in connection with the alleged drug trafficking and money laundering activities. Legal procedures have been initiated, and investigations are continuing to establish the full circumstances of the case.
