Egypt Targets 85% Enrollment in Universal Health Insurance During 2026/2027
Egypt is continuing efforts to develop the Universal Health Insurance system during the 2026/2027 fiscal year, with the government targeting broader coverage, improved healthcare services and higher beneficiary satisfaction.
According to the Economic and Social Development Plan for 2026/2027, Egypt aims to raise the enrollment rate among eligible beneficiaries in governorates where the system has been implemented to 85%, while the percentage of service outlets is also targeted to reach 85%.
The plan also targets raising beneficiaries’ awareness of the system to 90% and achieving a 90% satisfaction rate with the system and healthcare services.
In addition, the government aims to resolve 95% of complaints received through call centers and 95% of complaints submitted through the electronic portal.
