UAE Responds to Algeria's Decision to Cut Diplomatic Relations

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued its first statement following Algeria's announcement that it was cutting diplomatic relations with the United Arab Emirates, emphasizing its commitment to maintaining and strengthening relations with all countries.

The UAE expressed hope that Algeria's decision would be temporary, stressing the importance of preserving the brotherly ties between the two peoples.

In its statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the country values its relations with all states and remains committed to developing and strengthening them in a way that serves common interests and promotes understanding, cooperation and prosperity.

The ministry also expressed its appreciation for the Algerian people and highlighted the strong ties between the two peoples, particularly with members of the Algerian community living in the UAE and Algerian visitors.

The UAE stressed its desire to maintain and strengthen these ties and shared interests.

Earlier on Thursday, Algeria announced that it had decided to cut diplomatic relations with the United Arab Emirates, saying that the decision came after all efforts to preserve bilateral relations had been exhausted, according to a statement from Algeria's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
