Driver Arrested Over Alleged Killing of Woman and Her Daughter in Al-Haram

Security authorities arrested a driver accused of killing a woman and her daughter inside their apartment in the Al-Haram area of Giza.

The arrest followed investigations into reports circulated on social media concerning the deaths of two women of the same foreign nationality inside their apartment.

Bodies Found Inside the Apartment

Authorities said that on August 27, a report was filed with Al-Haram Police Department by a friend of the two victims, who shared their nationality, and the fiancé of one of them.

The report stated that the bodies of an elderly woman and her daughter were found inside their apartment.

Security forces launched investigations to determine the circumstances of the incident and identify the person responsible.

Emotional Relationship and Dispute Over Engagement

Investigators identified and arrested the alleged perpetrator, a driver who had previously been accused in a theft case.

Authorities said he lives in the Talbiya area and is originally from Matai in Minya Governorate.

During questioning, the suspect allegedly admitted that he had been involved in an emotional relationship with one of the victims.

According to the security statement, an argument occurred between them on August 25 after he became suspicious of her behavior and learned that she had become engaged to another man.

Suspect Allegedly Attacked Both Victims

The suspect allegedly told investigators that he asked the victim to return money he had previously given her, but she refused.

He allegedly then assaulted the woman and her mother with a stone-like object, causing injuries that resulted in their deaths.

The suspect allegedly stole money, gold jewelry and two mobile phones before fleeing the scene.

Stolen Items Recovered

Security forces arrested the suspect and, based on information he provided, recovered all of the stolen items.

Legal procedures have been taken, and the suspect is being referred to the Public Prosecution for further investigation.
