Barcelona have officially announced the signing of Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal to strengthen the team's attacking options for the new season, after the player successfully completed his medical examinations.

Gabriel Jesus joins Barcelona

The 29-year-old Gabriel Jesus has signed a three-year contract with Barcelona that will keep him at the Catalan club until 2029. The deal is aimed at providing Barcelona with additional attacking options ahead of the new campaign.

The transfer is worth €10 million in fixed fees, with an additional €4 million available in performance-related bonuses and incentives. Arsenal will also retain a 20% sell-on clause for any future transfer involving Gabriel Jesus.

Barcelona completed the signing after failing to secure a deal for Argentine striker Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid. Gabriel Jesus therefore emerged as a more affordable attacking option, while also bringing extensive experience from European football.

Jesus is expected to provide Barcelona with greater flexibility in attack due to his ability to operate in several positions. His versatility could give the coaching staff additional tactical options throughout the season.
