Driver Arrested After Shooting Three People During Land Dispute in Giza

Egypt’s Ministry of Interior has revealed the circumstances surrounding a video circulated on social media showing a man firing shots at several people in Giza.

Investigations showed that Abu El-Nomros Police Station received a report on September 21 from a hospital stating that it had admitted three people from the area. Two of them had gunshot wounds, while the third had a cut wound.

During questioning, the victims said they had been involved in an argument with a local driver over ownership of a piece of agricultural land. The confrontation took place while they were standing near the disputed property.

According to their statements, the driver fired at them using an automatic rifle in his possession, causing their injuries before fleeing the scene.

Security forces later arrested the suspect and seized the weapon used in the incident. When questioned, he admitted committing the shooting because of the same land dispute.

Legal action has been taken against him.
