Egypt’s Matches Against Angola and South Sudan in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers

The Egyptian national football team, led by head coach Hossam Hassan, is preparing to begin its campaign in the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, with two matches against Angola and South Sudan scheduled for September.
Egypt vs. Angola
Egypt will host Angola at 10:00 p.m. on September 25, 2026, at Cairo International Stadium in the opening round of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Egypt vs. South Sudan
The Pharaohs will then face South Sudan in Juba on September 29, 2026, with kickoff scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Cairo time in the second round of the qualifiers.
Egypt Searching for a Friendly Match
Egypt team director Ibrahim Hassan said the technical staff is also working on arranging a friendly match during the upcoming training camp as part of the team’s preparations for the official qualifiers.
2027 Africa Cup of Nations
The 2027 Africa Cup of Nations is scheduled to begin on June 19, 2027, with the final set for July 17, 2027.
The tournament will be jointly hosted by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, marking the first time the competition will be held across three countries.
Qualification System
The qualification campaign features 48 teams divided into 12 groups of four teams each.
The top two teams from each group will qualify for the finals, subject to the qualification arrangements applying to groups containing one of the host nations.
Egypt will open its campaign against Angola in Cairo before traveling to Juba to face South Sudan, aiming for a strong start to its qualification journey
