Egypt's Education Law, amended by Law No. 189 of 2025, establishes rules for vocational secondary schools and training programs.
Students may enroll after completing basic education or vocational basic education. Programs may last one or two academic years and combine general subjects with practical training in fields such as industry, agriculture, hospitality, and business technology.
Successful students receive a vocational training certificate in their chosen specialty. The certificate does not qualify holders for admission to universities or higher institutes.
The law also allows the Ministry of Education to establish specialized programs based on labor market needs and cooperate with public and private businesses. Short training courses may also be offered to workers and professionals to improve their theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
