The Giza Criminal Court is scheduled today, Sunday, August 30, 2026, to hear the trial of the defendant accused of killing a 17-year-old student, identified by the initials “Ziad A.”, after allegedly stabbing him in the heart during an incident in Al-Munib.

According to the case details, the incident began with a dispute in the area related to a young man proposing to a girl. The victim was not initially a main party to the dispute but intervened in an attempt to calm the situation and end the confrontation.

🔴 Student Killed After Trying to End Dispute

Investigations reportedly indicated that the defendant considered the student's intervention and defense of another person involved in the dispute to be a provocation, particularly amid previous disagreements between some of those involved.

The confrontation later escalated, resulting in the student's death.

🔴 Student Allegedly Lured to Agricultural Area

Investigations stated that the defendant allegedly lured the student to a remote agricultural area under the pretext of holding a reconciliation meeting to settle the dispute.

The meeting allegedly turned violent, with the defendant accused of attacking the student with a knife and inflicting a serious stab wound to his chest.

🔴 Defendant Allegedly Tried to Mislead Hospital Staff

Investigations also stated that the defendant took the injured student to a hospital and claimed that the injury had resulted from falling onto a piece of glass.

The account reportedly raised suspicions, leading hospital security personnel to detain the defendant. The weapon allegedly used in the incident was also seized.

🔴 Charges of Premeditated Murder and Showing Force

Prosecutors charged the defendant with premeditated murder, along with allegations related to showing force. Following the investigation, the case was referred to the Giza Criminal Court.

The court is examining the evidence, case documents, and requests from the defense and other parties before reaching its decision in accordance with the law.

Note: The defendant is presumed innocent unless convicted by a final court judgment.
