Suspect Arrested in Al-Haram Double-Killing Case
Security authorities arrested a driver accused of killing a woman and her daughter inside their apartment in the Al-Haram area of Giza.
Investigations indicated that the suspect had an emotional relationship with one of the victims.
The arrest came as security authorities worked to uncover the circumstances surrounding reports circulated on social media regarding the deaths of two women of the same foreign nationality in Giza.
Bodies Found Inside the Apartment
According to the investigation, on August 27, police received a report from a friend of the two victims, who shared their nationality, along with the fiancé of one of them.
They reported finding the bodies of the two women—an elderly woman and her daughter—inside their apartment within the jurisdiction of Al-Haram Police Department.
Security authorities immediately launched investigations to identify the person responsible.
Investigations Identify the Suspect
Investigators identified and arrested the alleged perpetrator, a driver who had previously been accused in a theft case.
Authorities said he lives in the Talbiya Police Department area and is originally from the Matai district in Minya Governorate.
During questioning, the suspect allegedly admitted that he had been involved in an emotional relationship with one of the victims.
Dispute Over Her Engagement and Money
According to the suspect's account, an argument broke out between him and one of the victims on August 25 after he became suspicious of her behavior and learned that she had become engaged to another man.
He also allegedly said that he asked her to return money he had previously given her, but she refused, leading to an escalation of the dispute.
Suspect Allegedly Attacked Both Victims
Security authorities said the suspect allegedly admitted assaulting the woman and her mother with a stone-like object, causing injuries that resulted in their deaths.
He allegedly then stole money, some gold jewelry and two mobile phones before fleeing the scene.
Stolen Items Recovered
The suspect was arrested, and authorities recovered all the stolen items after he directed investigators to their location.
Legal procedures have been initiated, and the suspect is being prepared for referral to the Public Prosecution for further investigation.
