Egypt’s Tourism Revenues Reach $8 Billion in the First Half of 2026

Egypt recorded historic tourism revenues of approximately $8 billion during the first six months of 2026, according to the Economic and Social Development Plan presented to the House of Representatives.

The strong performance was supported by the addition of around 6,000 new hotel rooms, increasing accommodation capacity and meeting growing global demand for Egypt as a tourist destination.

The country also continued developing major archaeological and tourism sites, particularly the Giza Pyramids area, as part of efforts to improve visitors’ experiences and upgrade tourism services in line with international standards.

The figures highlight the growing contribution of tourism to Egypt’s national economy and the success of government plans to turn increased tourist flows into sustainable economic revenues
