Egyptian authorities have arrested a female content creator in Mansoura, Dakahlia Governorate, over allegations that she posted videos on social media featuring dancing described by authorities as violating public decency and community values.
According to the Ministry of Interior’s account, the General Department for the Protection of Public Morality identified the videos published on the woman’s social media page.
She was arrested in the jurisdiction of Mansoura First Police Station. Authorities reported that a mobile phone was seized and that an examination revealed evidence they said was related to the alleged activity.
When questioned, the woman reportedly admitted posting the videos to increase views and generate financial profits.
The necessary legal procedures were initiated. The allegations remain subject to the relevant investigation and judicial process.
