Chinese Film Week Kicks Off Today at Al-Hanager Cinema, Celebrating 70 Years of Egyptian-Chinese Relations

The second edition of Chinese Film Week kicks off today, Sunday, August 30, and runs through September 1, 2026, at Al-Hanager Cinema, affiliated with Egypt’s Ministry of Culture.

The event is organized in cooperation between the Egypt Film Commission and the Chinese company Ori Group, as part of efforts to strengthen cinematic and cultural cooperation between Egypt and China and create new opportunities for artistic and cultural exchange.

The program features five diverse Chinese films representing different cinematic genres, offering Egyptian audiences an opportunity to explore various aspects of contemporary Chinese cinema.

This year’s event holds special significance as it coincides with the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Egypt and China, highlighting the depth of the historic and strategic ties between the two countries and their continued development, particularly in the cultural, artistic and cinematic fields.
