Today's Weather in Egypt: Slight Rise in Temperatures, Feels Like 39°C in Cairo

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority expects a slight rise in temperatures to continue across most parts of the country today, Tuesday, September 8, 2026.

The weather will be moderate to relatively hot and humid during the early morning, becoming extremely hot and humid during the daytime across most areas. The northern coastal regions will experience hot and humid conditions, while temperatures will become moderate to relatively hot and humid during the night.

Greater Cairo: High of 37°C, feels like 39°C.

Northwestern Coasts: High of 31°C, feels like 35°C.

Northern Upper Egypt: High of 38°C, feels like 40°C.

Lower Egypt: High of 36°C, feels like 38°C.

Northeastern Coasts: High of 34°C, feels like 38°C.

Southern Upper Egypt: High of 41°C, feels like 42°C.

Weather Phenomena

Some roads leading to and from the northern parts of the country, Greater Cairo, the Canal Cities, central Sinai, and northern Upper Egypt will experience water mist, which may occasionally be dense between 4:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. This may result in reduced horizontal visibility on some roads.

Winds will also be occasionally active, reaching speeds of between 30 and 40 km/h across parts of Greater Cairo, South Sinai, and northern Upper Egypt. The winds will help make the weather feel more pleasant during the evening in some exposed areas.

Winds may also stir up sand and dust over parts of the northwestern coast at intermittent intervals.

Sea Conditions

Winds will be active along parts of the beaches of Matrouh, El Alamein, Alexandria, Baltim, Gamasa, Damietta, and Port Said, resulting in waves ranging from 1.5 to 2.5 meters in height.

Chances of Rain

There is a very low chance of light rain, with a probability of around 10%, over parts of the northern coastal areas and northern Lower Egypt at intermittent intervals.

Low clouds are also expected to form over scattered areas of Greater Cairo, southern Lower Egypt, and the Canal Cities. These clouds may result in light drizzle in some areas, with no significant impact.
