President Sisi Follows Up on Food Ration Cards and Subsidized Bread System*

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today in New Alamein with PM Mostafa Madbouly, and several ministers to review Egypt's food security system. 

Key points:

1.  *Strategic reserves* of basic commodities are at very reassuring levels, with stock enough for nearly a full year for some goods.

2.  Review of "Future of Egypt" silos complex to enhance food security and crisis reserves.

3.  Follow-up on *Takaful and Karama* social protection program, with emphasis on supporting the poorest citizens.

4.  Discussion of proposed *cash and in-kind subsidy program* to enhance social justice and give citizens freedom of choice.

5.  Updates on *ration cards* and *subsidized bread* system. Plans to establish *300 strategic bakeries* nationwide in the first phase.

President Sisi stressed the need to achieve self-sufficiency in strategic goods and build long-term safe reserves to control markets and prices.
