Egypt Advances 47 Places to Rank 22nd Globally in Digital Government
Egypt has achieved a major leap in the World Bank’s 2025 GovTech Maturity Index, advancing 47 places to rank 22nd globally, compared with 69th in 2022.
Egypt also moved from category C to category A, scoring 0.911 points, representing 21% growth compared with 2022. The improvement reflects the country’s expanding digital infrastructure and efforts to enhance government services through technology.
The government ecosystem development index increased by 26%, while service delivery maturity grew by 18%. Digital partnership and engagement increased by 14%, while digital transformation enablers recorded 27% growth.
The figures indicate that Egypt’s digital transformation is moving beyond simply digitizing individual services toward building a more integrated digital government ecosystem.
