Social Insurance Law Defines Five Funding Sources for the National Institute

Egypt's Social Insurance and Pensions Law No. 148 of 2019 defines the funding sources of the National Institute for Social Insurance and outlines its role in developing the skills of social insurance employees, keeping pace with global developments and strengthening professional standards.

Five funding sources

Article 152 provides for the establishment of the National Institute for Social Insurance to improve employee skills and professional performance.

Article 153 identifies five sources of funding:

1. Financial allocations approved by the institute's board of directors.
2. Payments from organizations for training their employees.
3. Fees for services provided by the institute.
4. Returns on the investment of the institute's funds.
5. Donations, grants and subsidies received from various entities and accepted by the board of directors.

Financial year and accounts

Under Article 153, the institute's financial year begins and ends in line with that of the relevant authority. The institute maintains a dedicated account for its resources, and the account balance carries over from one financial year to the next.

These provisions establish a framework for financing the institute's training programs and services for social insurance professionals.
