*Dr. Badr Abdelatty*, Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, received *Stephen Doughty*, UK Minister of State for the Middle East, on *Tuesday, August 18* to discuss bilateral relations and regional developments.
Abdelatty expressed keenness to enhance *economic, trade and investment ties* and build on the momentum following the 3rd *Egypt-UK Association Council* in June. He stressed the importance of boosting Egyptian exports to the UK and attracting more *British direct investment*.
On regional issues, both sides condemned *Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir's* inciting remarks. Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt's support for *President Donald Trump's peace plan* and *UNSC Resolution 2803*, and rejected settlement expansion and settler violence in the *West Bank*.
The ministers also discussed *Iran*, stressing diplomacy and freedom of navigation, and *Sudan*, reaffirming support for its unity and a political settlement.
The meeting concluded with the signing of a *Statement of Intent on Migration*, with Abdelatty noting that combating illegal migration requires addressing root causes through development and job creation.
