Egypt to apply 50% essay and 50% MCQ system in Thanaweya Amma and Baccalaureate exams from 2026-2027.
*Minister of Education Mohamed Abdel Latif* issued a ministerial decision regarding the exam system for the *Thanaweya Amma* and *Egyptian Baccalaureate* certificates.
Starting in the *2026-2027 academic year*, exams will be divided into *50% multiple choice questions* and *50% essay questions* for:
- *Grade 2 and 3 of the Egyptian Baccalaureate*
- *Grade 3 of Thanaweya Amma*
The new system aims to balance testing analytical skills through essays and knowledge retention through multiple choice.
