Egypt Weather Today: Waves Reach 4.5 Meters as Severe Marine Warning Issued

Weather Forecast for Egypt Today

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority expects unstable marine conditions across several coastal areas today, Saturday, August 29, 2026, accompanied by strong winds and a slight drop in temperatures across most parts of the country.

Marine navigation is expected to be disrupted along the coasts of Matrouh, El Alamein, Alexandria, Beheira, Kafr El Sheikh, Dakahlia, Damietta, Port Said and North Sinai.

Wind speeds are expected to range between 50 and 70 km/h, while wave heights may reach between 2.5 and 4.5 meters.

Winds will also be active across most parts of Egypt at speeds ranging from 30 to 50 km/h, potentially causing blowing sand and dust and reducing horizontal visibility in some areas.

Wind gusts may reach 55–60 km/h over parts of the northwestern coast, northern Delta and Western Desert.

- Northwestern Coast: High 30°C, feels like 33°C

- Northeastern Coast: High 35°C, feels like 38°C

- Southern Upper Egypt: High 42°C, feels like 43°C

Hot and Humid Weather

The weather will be relatively warm and humid during the early morning, becoming very hot and humid during the daytime across most areas.

The northern coast will experience hot and humid conditions, while nighttime weather will remain relatively warm and humid across most parts of Egypt.

Morning Mist Warning

Water mist is expected from 4 a.m. to 8 a.m. on some roads leading to and from northern Egypt, Greater Cairo, the Canal Cities, Central Sinai and Northern Upper Egypt.

Drivers are advised to exercise caution and maintain safe distances due to potentially reduced visibility.

Limited Rain Chances

There is a low probability of light rain, around 20%, over parts of the northern coast and northern Delta. A very low probability of around 10% may extend to parts of the southern Delta at intermittent intervals.

Low clouds may also develop over scattered areas of Greater Cairo and the Canal Cities, potentially producing light and insignificant drizzle.
