The Egyptian Football Association announces Egypt will host the U23 Africa Cup of Nations in November 2027, Olympic qualifiers for Los Angeles 2028.

Egypt awarded hosting rights for U23 AFCON 2027 with government backing.

The Egyptian Football Association, headed by Hany Abo Rida, officially announced that Egypt will host the U23 Africa Cup of Nations, the qualifying tournament for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

*CAF Approval and Government Guarantee* 
In a statement, the EFA said it had submitted a bid to the Confederation of African Football "CAF" in recent months to host the finals scheduled for November 2027. 
The bid was backed by Egypt’s extensive experience in organizing continental tournaments, as well as its infrastructure and sports facilities. 
The hosting file also received government support through an official guarantee issued by the Minister of Youth and Sports.

*Hosting UNAF U20 Tournament* 
Egypt will also host the UNAF U20 Championship, a qualifier for the Africa Cup of Nations, from September 21 to October 6, 2026.

The EFA stressed that hosting these tournaments is part of a comprehensive plan to develop national teams, provide optimal preparation, and reinforce Egypt’s position as a leading host of African football events
