Minneapolis Shooting Leaves Two Dead and Three Police Officers Injured
A deadly shooting in Minneapolis, Minnesota, left two people dead and four others injured, including three police officers, while the suspected gunman also died during the incident.
Minneapolis police spokesperson Garrett Parten said during a press conference that one person died at the scene, while four others were transported to a hospital, where one later died.
Three police officers were also hospitalized, including two who suffered gunshot wounds. A hospital spokesperson said their conditions were stable, noting that one officer was shot in the leg while another underwent surgery. The nature of the third officer’s injury was not immediately disclosed.
Authorities said the suspected shooter also died during the incident, although the circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear.
The motive behind the shooting has not yet been determined, and an investigation is underway to establish the full circumstances of the attack.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz called for prayers for the state in a post on X, while FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed that federal agents were involved in the operation and investigation.
