Beef starts at 400 EGP, Barki sheep up to 550

Meat prices remained stable in Matrouh markets today, Wednesday July 22, 2026, with slight variations depending on quality, fat percentage and outlet.

*Beef Prices*

Local beef ranged between 400 and 550 EGP per kilo. Local beef liver between 500 and 600 EGP. Minced meat between 400 and 500 EGP.

*Sheep and Goat Prices*

Barki sheep meat ranged between 450 and 550 EGP. Goat meat between 450 and 500 EGP.

Live sheep heads were between 240 and 260 EGP. Sheep heads ranged 10,000 to 20,000 EGP, and goat heads 5,000 to 10,000 EGP by weight.

*Chilled and Frozen Meat*

Chilled and frozen meat ranged 280 to 350 EGP by origin. Sudanese meat in consumer complexes 300 to 350 EGP. Frozen minced 280 to 350 EGP.

Matrouh is famous for Barki sheep raised on natural pastures, with large exports to Gulf countries.
