Dr. El-Saeed Ghonim, First Deputy Chairman of the Conference Party, head of the party’s parliamentary body in the Senate, and Deputy Chairman of the Industry and Trade Committee, said that Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to Egypt represents an important opportunity to strengthen the economic partnership between Cairo and Beijing.
Ghonim emphasized the need to maximize the benefits of Chinese investments and expertise in manufacturing, energy, infrastructure and technology, while focusing on productive projects that serve the Egyptian market and support exports.
He pointed out that Egypt’s strategic geographical location and trade agreements provide access to regional and international markets, making the country an important gateway for Chinese companies seeking to expand across the region.
The Conference Party senator also stressed the importance of expanding Egyptian-Chinese cooperation in technology, digital transformation, renewable energy and high-value-added industries, while supporting small and medium-sized enterprises and integrating them into major production and supply chains.
He said the next phase should focus on specific projects and clear timetables aimed at increasing trade and investment, strengthening manufacturing and boosting Egyptian exports.
Ghonim concluded that benefiting from Chinese expertise in industrial and technological development could help increase production and exports and transform the strategic relations between Egypt and China into tangible economic gains for the country and its citizens.
